New research suggests that young people's activity levels start to decline from the age of seven. This study uses objective physical activity data, measured with an accelerometer, using data from the Gateshead Millenium Study with eight years of follow up. The authors conclude that future policy and research efforts to promote physical activity should begin well before adolescence, and should include both boys and girls.
