This document, released by Public Health England, provides a framework for national and local action to address the national physical inactivity epidemic. It sets out a vision where physical activity is fun, easy and affordable and exercise and recreation is available to every community across England. To achieve this, the four areas for national and local action are:
1. Active Society: Create a radical attitude change to make the active choice the easiest choice.
2. Moving Professionals: Activate the large network of public facing professionals to spread the work to make physical activity the social norm.
3. Active Environments: Create environments to support physical activity in daily lives by re-shaping environments.
4. Moving at Scale: Identify and scale up successful interventions that make us active. As much as possible, pre-existing assets should be maximised as opposed to making new investments.
