Last week Activity Alliance published two new analysis of the last 5 years of their ‘Annual Disability and Activity Survey’ (ADAS). The links are above.
They say:
- 51% of disabled people across the country feel they have the opportunity to be active (there were no differences by region)
- Those living with mental health problems are even less likely to feel they have access to sport and physical activity
- 80% of disabled respondents express a wish to be more active
- 79% of disabled people rely on health and social care professionals as their most trusted source of advice about being active – although the internet is the most commonly used source (53%)
- Disabled people who are older, LGBT+, female, or from lower socio-economic backgrounds are less likely to see themselves as participants, workers, or volunteers in sport
