London’s economy is strong but access to opportunity isn’t:
- London has 13% of the UK’s population, employs 18% of the workforce, and generates 23% of UK GDP
- Inequality is high, boroughs with economic power sit alongside those with some of the UK’s lowest physical activity levels
- Implication: Facility access and affordability remain uneven. Investment must target underserved areas, not just economic hubs
Inner Londoners are happier (46% high life satisfaction vs 37% for UK), more trusting, and open to change, and have lower concern about NHS healthcare (25% vs 45%).
