72% say Always Active School Uniforms are more appropriate

As part of National School Sport Week, Youth Sport Trust outline how an Always Active Uniform can make sport more accessible for school children:

  • Around half (53%) of primary school teachers agree that their core school uniform allows students to be active throughout the day
  • Two thirds (69%) of primary school teachers and three-quarters (77%) of parents of primary aged pupils agree that an ‘always active’ uniform would enable students to spend more time being active during the school day
  • Polling from Active Uniform Alliance showed that:
    • 81% of the public believe being active during the school day improves children’s mood, focus and wellbeing
    • 72% say an Always Active Uniform is more appropriate than a smart, office-style one
    • 58% agree that skirts and dresses can discourage girls from participating in physical activity
