A study of inactivity levels in school children, which suggest that the current generation is the least active generation in history. It highlights the benefits of children being active and how little understanding we have of the current scale of inactivity. Key results:

1. 10% of schools use indirect measures

2. 1% of schools formally measure physical literacy

3. 91% of schools track time spent in PE lessons

4. 54% of schools monitor motor skills

5. 89% of schools track extra curricular activity

Recommendations for Government, Headteachers and The Activity Sector are provided, offering guidance on how to improve physical activity levels in schools.
