This report by InFocus evaluates the Sport Unites investment programme and Major Events Engagement Fund (MEEF) commissioned by the Mayor of London’s Community Sport team in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. The aim being to ensure that the challenges faced by the community sport sector are captured and that the impact is measured. Additionally, learnings by the sector in responding and adapting to the crisis are gathered in this report.
This information is gathered to ensure the sector can return to pre-Covid 19 levels of implementation and progress whilst considering ways to make the sector more resilient for the future. This is detailed in the recommendations made in the report, which cover points such as sector activities redesigned for accessibility and return to delivery, new considerations for safeguarding and simplified, aligned and collaborative funding mechanisms, systems and processes for the community sport sector.
