How Do Londoners Feel About Being Active?
This year’s Active Lives data gives us insight into life satisfaction, anxiety, and trust across London.
Here’s what we found:
- Lambeth residents reported the highest life satisfaction (6.9 out of 10), while Kensington & Chelsea scored lowest (6.5). The national average is 6.9.
- Anxiety levels were highest in Tower Hamlets (4.4 out of 10) noticeably above the national average (3.6) and lowest in Lambeth (3.7).
- On social trust (whether most people in your local area can be trusted), scores were fairly close. Kensington & Chelsea rated highest at 3.4 out of 5, just above the national average (3.3), while Barking & Dagenham scored lowest (3.0).
The findings suggest that emotional wellbeing and community trust play a role in shaping people’s motivation and opportunities to be active, particularly at a local level.
