The PHE Obesity Risk Factors Intelligence team have produced supporting indicators for the excess weight in adults (aged 18 and over) data in the Public Health Outcomes Framework (PHOF). Local authority prevalence data is broken down into BMI categories: underweight, healthy weight, overweight, obese, severe obesity and excess weight.

The data reveals that there more people in England who are overweight than of a healthy weight, and this doesn't even take into account the amount of people who are obese.

In London, 19.1% of the adult population are obese or severely obese and 36.2% are overweight. Look at the spreadsheet to find out more.
