Sport England's latest Active Lives Survey predicts that activity levels were on track to reach record highs. This upward trajectory was impeded in March 2020 when the country went into lockdown.

This is why, alongside their Active Lives adult report from May 2019-2020, Sport England have also released a detailed report measuring the effects that lockdown had on the country's physical activity levels between March 2020 and May 2020.

This Covid-19 report shows that the gains made in the first 10 months of the year were cancelled out by drops in activity levels during this period, despite an increase in cycling for leisure, running outside and exercising at home.
